Meet the Physicians
Theresa Paz, M.D. (Internal Medicine and Geriatrics)
Dr. Theresa Paz was born and raised in the Philippines where she finished her undergraduate in Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of the Philippines in 1997. She worked as a physical therapist for a year and then went on to obtain her medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas, which she completed in 2002. She then did one year of post-graduate medical internship at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center where she was noted to be one of the Best Medical Interns of Batch 2003. Dr Paz worked as a primary care physician in her country until she moved to Chicago in 2005 for residency training in Internal Medicine at the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County (formerly known as Cook County Hospital). There she was given the Residents Humanitarian Award in 2008 in recognition of her dedication and compassion to patients. Her residency training exposed her to the many challenging issues in caring for the older adults, which fortified her interest in the field of geriatrics. Following her residency, she pursued fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Michigan which she completed in July 2009. Her fields of interest include musculoskeletal diseases, dementia, and preventive medicine.
Great weather, friends and family brought her to the Bay area where she is looking forward to forming long-term relationships with the community and her patients. She and her husband are both very excited to put down roots in Marin County. Outside of medicine, she enjoys travel, cuisine, theatre, shopping and basic rest & relaxation with friends and family.
