Shared Medical Appointments

Prima Medical Group now offers Shared Medical Appoinments (SMAs) at some of our locations. SMAs focus on a specific disease state (Diabetes Mellitis or Heart Disease for example) and are open to any patients of the physician offering the SMA. The purpose is to improve care and increase the patient's knowledge of the disease so they are better able to manage their health. In addition, patients get the added benefit of a "support group" environment where they can share their experiences and learn from eachother.

SMA's will include an exam with your physician, and may include anything other activities such as recipe ideas, specialist exams, demonstrations of medications or meters, and Question and Answer sessions with your Physician and Medical Assistants.
