Meet the Physicians
Robert Bartz, M.D. (Family Practice)
Dr. Bob Bartz is a board certified family physician. While he is new to the Sausalito group, he has been in practice in the Bay Area for nearly 20 years. He brings with him extensive clinical experience as a family practitioner and enthusiasm for providing comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages. Dr. Bartz grew up in a small community in western Wisconsin, and completed his core medical training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison including medical school in 1981 and family medicine residency in 1985. Following residency he gained valuable clinical experience working in community health centers and rural clinics in Wisconsin and Florida. He moved to the Bay Area in 1989 for a research fellowship in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at Stanford University. Following this fellowship he joined the medical school faculty at the University of California, San Francisco. He was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family and Community Medicine for nearly ten years. Further professional experience has included work in the Marin County Division of Aging and most recently as a family physician in a group practice in San Francisco.
In addition to his medical training, Dr. Bartz has earned a Masters degree in administrative and preventive medicine from the University of Wisconsin and a Doctoral degree in the history of medicine from the University of California, San Francisco. He has special interests in healthy aging and improving the quality of care for patients with chronic disease. He has the training and experience to serve as a primary care physician in the areas of general pediatrics, adult medicine, women’s health, and geriatrics.
