Meet the Physicians
Nona Cunningham, M.D. (Obstetrics and Gynecology)
Dr. Nona Cunninghamam is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist, practicing currently in both Greenbrae and Novato. She is a fourth or fifth generation Californian, having spent most of her years in the Bay Area. She graduated from University of the Pacific with a B.A. in German and Chemistry. Dr. Cunningham then worked as a Medical Assistant for an allergy specialist before attending medical school. She graduated with Honors from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC and then travelled back to the West Coast where she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco.
After residency Dr. Cunningham immediately began practicing with Women's Medical Associates. Simultaneously, she took the position of Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Marin, Sonoma, and Medocino Counties, which she held for approximately four years. She left that position to become a wife and ultimately a mother of three girls. Dr. Cunningham has worked for more than twenty years with Women's Medical Associates, caring for women from birth through the mature years, specializing in microinvasive surgeries. Apart from work, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending Ballet performances, Drama productions, and sporting events, teaching Sunday School, and crafting.
