Meet the Physicians
Sareena Jaspal, M.D.
Dr. Sareena Jaspal was delighted to join Prima Pediatrics in 2008. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. She came out west to complete her residency at the Children's Hospital in Oakland. Prior to Prima Pediatrics, Dr. Jaspal worked at St. Lukes Pediatrics, a community clinic in San Francisco. During this time she also worked as a Pediatric hospitalist affiliated with Children's Hospital Oakland and Lucile Packard Children's hospital at Stanford.
Dr. Jaspal is board certified and a Fellow of the Academy of Pediatrics. She is co-President of The Reading Tree, an organization dedicated to literacy for children. She is able to communicate in Spanish and Hindi, and understands Punjabi. Her interest in international medicine took her to Bangalore, India to care for children requiring cleft lip and palate repairs.
Dr. Jaspal thoroughly enjoys connecting with her patients and families. She is dedicated to providing high quality care to her patients with an emphasis on prevention. She practices pediatrics using a holistic and integrative approach involving allopathic (western) and complementary medicine. She has a special interest in using nutrition to help address chronic disease and prevent acute illnesses. She incorporates natural remedies and functional approaches such as probiotics to help nuture the body. She believes that the key to thriving involves addressing a child's physical, as well as, emotional well being.
In her free time she enjoys running, yoga, pilates, reading, snowboarding and traveling. She is thrilled to work with a fabulous team of pediatricians and office staff.
